Objective: The objective of the article is to describe and analyze, albeit briefly, ethnographic situations investigated by members of the Sociocultural Studies in Physical Education Group/Human Movement Sciences Postgraduate Program at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, highlighting some contributions from research into debates concerning management, from the perspective of Human Sciences. Methodology: this is a review of research developed based on 13 dissertations/theses, whose investigations involved carrying out ethnographic research in sports and physical activity management situations. Results: the description of the experiences is systematized based on the presentation of the general objectives of the studies, the construction of ethnographic situations (leisure and participation; training for/and high-performance; work in the fitness universe) and highlighting contributions for management debates. Final considerations: based on what was systematized and analyzed, we concluded that, in the interface with the Human Sciences, the Group has contributed with productions that can expand understandings about management, building its ethnographic authority in different ways (interpretive approaches, power relations and pragmatics).
